Mount Erguniang
Located at the boundary between Xiaojin County and Wenchuan County to the northwest of Chengdu, Mount Sanguniang belongs to the Qionglai Mountainous Region, with an altitude of 5,664m, about 200km to the west of Chengdu.
This scenic area has beautiful views, complicated landform and abundant animal and plant resources, amongst which the giant panda is the most renowned. The Tibetan and Qiang culture is popular to the tourists. The mount peak is also narrow and steep and covered with snow throughout the year, so very few people are fortunate enough to make it to the top. To climb or travel to Mount Sanguniang, the Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda–Wolong Nature Reserve is a must-pass place surrounded by mountains and peculiar peaks, tall trees and lush grasses, and therefore is a natural paradise for the giant pandas.
