2. Rare Plants and their Distribution
According to investigation, there are more than 40 ancient rare and peculiar plants and more than 400 wild flowers and ornamental plants in the Mount Siguniang Scenic Area and its surrounding areas, including Ophioglossum thermale Kom., Picea brachytyla (Franch.) Pritz., Picea purpurea mast., Abies fabri, Larix mastersiana, Sabina saltuaria, Paeonia szechuanica, Sinopodophyllum hexandrum, Dysosma veitchii (Hemsl. et Wils.) Fu ex Ying, Kingdonia uniflora, Salix magnifica hemsl., Betula albo-sinensis burkill., Adoxa moschatellina L., Rhododendron ambiguum Hemsl., Rhododendron nitidulum Rehd. et Wils., Rhododendron phaeochrysum Balf. f. et W. W. Smith, Rhododendron wasonii Hemsl. et Wils., Rhododendron bureavii Franch., Syringa pinnatifolia Hemsl., Trillium tschonoskii Maxim., Gastrodia elata Bl., Cypripedium macranthum Sw., Cypripedium flavum P. F. Hunt & Summerh., Cypripedium margaritaceum Franch., Goodyera repens (L.) R. Br., Calanthe mannii Hook. f., Bletilla ochracea Schltr., Cypripedium flavum P. F. Hunt & Summerh., Cypripedium tibeticum King ex Rolfe, Herminium monorchis (L. ) R. 3. National Key Protected Plants
After preliminary investigation and verification, it can be basically determined that there are 9 national key protected plant species distributed in this area, i.e. Ophioglossum thermale Kom., Picea brachytyla (Franch.) Pritz., Larix mastersiana, Paeonia szechuanica, Kingdonia uniflora, Sinopodophyllum hexandrum, Salix magnifica hemsl., Syringa pinnatifolia Hemsl. and Trillium tschonoskii Maxim., of which, Ophioglossum thermale Kom., Larix mastersiana, Paeonia szechuanica and Kingdonia uniflora are category-II protected plants, and Picea brachytyla (Franch.) Pritz., Sinopodophyllum hexandrum, Salix magnifica hemsl., Syringa pinnatifolia Hemsl. and Trillium tschonoskii Maxim. are category-III protected plants."
