       Facing the beautiful scenery of the plateau, you may be most worried about: "can I adapt to the plateau environment?" In fact, high altitude is not terrible!

一、What is high altitude?

       According to the international standard of altitude classification:

       1500-3500 meters is a high altitude. At this altitude, if there is enough time, most people can adapt to it;

       3500-5500 m is a super high altitude. At this altitude, individual differences determine whether they can adapt or not;

       Over 5500 meters is a very high altitude. At this altitude, human body function will be seriously reduced, and some damage is irreversible. No one can stay at this height for a year. Even Tibetans and Sherpas generally live in areas below 5500 meters.

       From the actual situation, people living at low altitudes feel that their tombs are normal below 2400 meters above sea level and have no obvious reaction; if there are reasonable altitude steps and enough time, they can gradually adapt; after more than 5500 meters, no matter how much time they spend, they can not fully adapt.

二、What is altitude sickness?

       Altitude reaction refers to a series of natural physiological reactions that human body produces to adapt to the changes of air pressure difference, oxygen content and air drying caused by altitude when people reach a certain altitude.

       High altitude symptoms generally occur after the altitude of 2700 meters, and it is more likely to occur when the altitude reaches more than 3000 meters quickly (such as by plane). Generally, it occurs 6-12 hours after reaching the high altitude, and a few occur after 1-3 days, and recover within 3-7 days. In severe cases, the recovery time can be more than 2 weeks.

       The common manifestations of altitude sickness are chest tightness, shortness of breath, dry bite, headache, dizziness, fatigue, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, insomnia, slight fever, etc.; most people will have purple lips and nail roots due to lack of oxygen, and some people will have skin due to dry air bath.

       The symptoms and degree of high altitude reaction are different according to the individual conditions. In some cases, only one or a few of the above symptoms appear, while others are more; some of them are sensitive and strong, while others are mild or even almost none.

       In terms of individual quality, plateau reaction has the saying of "bullying men not women, bullying fat not bullying thin, bullying high not bullying short, bullying dynamic not bullying static".

三、Who is not suitable for high altitude?

       1. Patients with obvious heart, lung, brain, liver and kidney diseases, severe anemia, hypertension and retinal diseases, as well as pregnant women, should not enter high altitude areas;

       2. Those who are suffering from upper respiratory tract infection and fever, whose body temperature is above 38 degrees, or whose respiratory tract and systemic symptoms are obvious, should be suspended from entering the plateau;

四、Preparation for high altitude

       Before going to high altitude, we should make full preparations from the following aspects:

       1. Psychological preparation: practice has proved that good psychological quality is an important magic weapon to overcome and overcome high altitude reaction;

       2. Physiological preparation: going to the plateau is a kind of high-intensity sports, such as mountaineering and crossing. It is necessary to train systematically in advance. 五、Precautions for high altitude activities

Therefore, in the plateau, we must pay attention to keep warm and keep warm. It is suggested to take more clothes with you when you are hot and wear them when you are cold.

       4. Reasonable food: to increase the proportion of carbohydrate (should account for more than 60%) and high plant protein, increase the intake of various vitamins, so as to provide hot eyes quickly and improve the adaptability of the body. At the same time, alcohol consumption should be strictly restricted or prohibited; smokers should also reduce smoking.

       5. Proper exercise: the best way to adapt to the plateau at the beginning is not to stay in place and sleep with a big head, nor to move around with a large amount of exercise. Instead, we should maintain a certain amount of activity and actively adjust ourselves. In the plateau, try to learn and use abdominal breathing, better than the daily chest breathing effect.

       6. Sleep late, ventilation: to maintain a good state at high altitude, but also need a certain amount and quality of sleep, how to do? Four words: sleep late, ventilation. A better way is to delay sleeping for about an hour according to your usual sleeping habits. On the premise of keeping warm and cold, the room or curtain seam must ensure good ventilation.

       7. UV protection: high intensity of ultraviolet radiation at high altitude can easily damage the skin and eyes. Especially in snow, protective measures must be taken to avoid injury. When the light is strong, try to reduce the exposed skin area. Sun hat (Bush hat with ring cover is good) and sunglasses are necessary. Exposed skin needs a sunscreen.

       8. Necessary drugs and treatment measures: in addition to the normal use of inosine, vitamins, and other drugs for the treatment of diseases, it is not recommended to use drugs at high altitude. Be sure to guard against colds at high altitudes. Even mild respiratory tract infection can increase the risk of high altitude pulmonary edema. Once you find the first symptoms of a cold, you should take anti cold drugs immediately. Try not to inhale oxygen and try to adapt by oneself. Once inhaled, the dependence is very strong.

       9. Full communication: when you feel your physical condition is abnormal, you should report it to the team leader or the person with a face. If you travel alone and feel the situation is serious, you should get a doctor in time. Don't try to be tough and hide. Team members should pay more attention to each other, and take timely measures to deal with them once they find that someone around them has abnormal reactions (such as delirium).

六、 How to deal with the emergency situation of high level anti personnel

       The plateau is different from the flat land, any insignificant negligence and carelessness may pay the price of life!

       At high altitude, the most lethal when the number of Alpine pulmonary edema and alpine brain edema. It is necessary to pay enough attention and vigilance to these two kinds of mountain sickness because of their fast onset and high mortality.

       How to deal with alpine pulmonary edema and brain edema?

       It is summarized as "active prevention, attention to observation, early identification, timely treatment, and rapid withdrawal".

       The first thing to do is to send the patient to the hospital immediately and give the rest to the doctor.

       If it is in a place without medical conditions, as a non professional, the treatment of the two kinds of mountain sickness is the same, that is to do three things immediately:

       1. High flow oxygen delivery;

       2. Take two tablets of furosemide orally (patients in serious condition should be given dexamethasone intravenously).

       3. Get down as fast as you can.

       For patients with brain edema, the forehead can be cold at the same time, reduce intracranial pressure.

       Don't delay or wait for help. Immediately withdraw 600-1200 meters is the most important and effective treatment! The faster the better, the lower the better. Go to the hospital immediately after removal! Do remember, delay one second, the patient's chance of survival is smaller!

七、Hypooriginal reaction (oxygen intoxication)

       When you return to the plain from high altitude, you may suffer from fatigue, fatigue, drowsiness, chest tightness, dizziness, hunger, diarrhea and other symptoms. Generally, it can disappear in 1-2 weeks. This is the so-called "hypogenic reaction", commonly known as "drunk oxygen". "Drunk oxygen" is actually "oxygen poisoning", which is the normal physiological reaction of human body as well as altitude reaction. Although the harm to the human body is far less than the mountain reaction, but if you do not pay attention, it will also have adverse effects on the body.
